Flood Alert

Discontinuation of Flood Levy - 28/11/2022

We are pleased to inform you that none of our regularly serviced routes are currently affected by road closures caused by floods. However, there may be some routes affected, and interstate and third-party couriers may incur additional charges, which will be passed on to you. If you are unsure of service availability, please request an itemized quote.

Dear Valued Customers,

We like to take this opportunity to thank you and all of our staff for their efforts and understanding in this troubling time. As of Friday 28th October, we have been able to lift 2 of the 3 areas affected by the flood levy. As a reminder, the flood levy to any affected routes was introduced on 17/10/22 and at a flat rate of 10% to the base freight rate for affected areas.

However, Kerang is still affected by heavy flooding and servicing this region is problematic and the flood levy will remain but cannot guarantee our service levels and delays are still evident.

Please watch our website for the latest information with more flood waters moving downstream on the Murray River, we will continue to be on flood watch and the Murray Downs/Swan Hill depot is on Major Alert.

If you are unsure of how this will affect your freight rates for a certain booking, please request a quote online or contact our booking team for clarification.

Thank you for your understanding in this troubled time as we strive to keep things moving for those who need it most.

Flood Levy

[Effective 17/10/22]

Dear Valued Customers,

As you will be aware Victoria, Australia has been recently subject to large rain and has caused severe flooding throughout the state and into other districts that we service. A large portion of our customers, family and friends have been personally impacted by the floods, road damage and subsequent delays.

Unfortunately, we have been forced to implement a temporary flood levy to cover the additional costs and delays with road closures and detours. We are attempting to mitigate any delays when providing freight services, but as it stands we will be introducing a flood levy to any affected routes at a flat rate of 10% to the base freight rate.

Please be informed that this flood levy currently only affects routes into, or out of Swan Hill and Kerang regions. However, any onforwarding charges from 3rd parties may have a different rate or applicable surcharge introduced, which will be passed on at invoicing. Some routes will also be charged on an ad-hoc basis.

If you are unsure of how this will affect your freight rates for a certain booking, please request a quote online or contact our booking team for clarification.

Thank you for your understanding in this troubled time as we strive to keep things moving for those who need it most.

PALLETS & PTG UPDATE [1/9/2022]

Recent market conditions and reduced availability of resources has led to changes in our pallet policy and as such some customers may need to review the best use of plain pallets versus hiring pallets. If you choose to use hire pallets, then we recommend that you please advise your suppliers that we will no longer be exchanging Chep / Loscam with senders. And it is recommended that you take steps to obtain your receiver's Chep / Loscam account details, so that you can commence pallet transfer paperwork as soon as possible.

Moving forward, pallets are to be transferred directly from the sender’s Chep / Loscam account to the receiver’s Chep / Loscam account. We will not accept transfers onto our account unless approval has been pre-arranged. If the receiver doesn’t have CHEP / LOSCAM to exchange and is not willing to cooperate, we will transfer pallets back to the sender to arrange collection of owed Chep / Loscam. Please read our pallet policy that details all relevant charges that will apply from the 1st of October 2022.

If you send hire pallets to a receiver who does not have a Chep / Loscam account, then please ask that they open an account or organise that they can dehire these on your behalf. We appreciate that you may have some smaller customers who do not have Chep / Loscam accounts or do not wish to open one, which could be an appropriate use case of plain pallets.

Thank you for your support and your patience as we work together to navigate these changing times. Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries.

Kind Regards,

Angela Conway
